USWW members help pass AB450 and SB54 the sanctuary state and sanctuary workplace laws
As part of the Resistance to President Trump’s anti immigrant agenda, USWW members fought for and passed AB 450, which is the first bill in the nation that protects immigrant workers from worksite raids.
Under the new law, a judicial warrant is required in order for Federal immigration authorities to enter the non-public areas of a worksite. In addition, the state will begin providing guidance to employers about their rights and responsibilities to workers in this situation.
This law will allow all of our members the chance to go to work and care for their families without fear that they won’t make it home to their families at the end of their shifts.
